A definitive feasibility study (DFS) of a 4 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) mine, mill and flotation concentrater operation was undertaken by Como Engineers (Como) and completed in March 2008. GR Engineering Services (GRES) was selected as the preferred contractor to build the plant and associated infrastructure. An upgrade of the engineering and cost studies to 5Mtpa was undertaken by GRES and completed in September 2008. Cutback Consulting and Southern Mining Consultants produced amended mine schedules and Cashflow models of the expanded operation.
A combined Como-GRES document has been compiled by Altona Mining and the Company's consultant Project Manager.
